October will be an exciting month at Artspace.
Commencing on Sunday 11th October "Caroline Colman at Artspace" will run until 25th October. Caroline has participated in many group exhibitions, but this will be her first solo show. Her work can be described as abstrract, but contains many figurative references. Caroline starts with an acrylic underpainting, then progresses to oil. Her work involves many layers of paint that leave the canvas heavy with pigment. She uses palette knives to apply paint until she is satisfied with the image. Her inspiration comes from travels abroad and her surroundings in Chittering where she lives.
Opening Hours are 3pm - 5pm Sunday 11th and after that 10am - 4pm Wed to Friday, 10 am - 2pm Saturday and 11am - 3pm Sunday. | |
| "Beyond Botanica"
As the name implies this exhibition explores how different artists look at Botanical themes. Exhibits will vary from the classic botanical paintings to those verging on abstraction and others using actual botanical dyes or materials to make art works.Sculpture will be on displays as well as jewellery, clothing and flowers. Artists include Maria Blackmore, Janie Benzie, Moira Court, Brenda De Montille, Jeanette Dyson, Philip Evans, Donna Franklin, Zoe Keogh, Marcia Hadlow, Daniel Iley, Jenny Laurie, Clare McFarlane,Louise Macfie, Lesley Meaney, Paricia Negus, Charlene O"Brien, Leon Pericles, Marrgherita Rawle, Wendy Tweedie ,Natalie Williamson Jane Wishaw and Jamie Worsley. | We are ending our year with an exciting new exhibition by Christopher Martin. "Margaret River - Broome" commences at the gallery on 20th November and runs until 6th December. Those of you who have seen Christopher's work before need no introduction to his fine paintings. He is an artist of exceptional talent, who delights in depicting our Western Australian landscape, from ocean to inland gorges with sensitivity and verve. Artspace is proud to be hosting his fourth solo exhibition. | |
